Norman is a handsome garden gnome, with a passion for fishing. Lots of his friends including Rainbow, Pink and Yorkshire gnomes live in this garden. They sing and dance with Pride. Sometimes they get fed up with the British weather. Theirs is a big family with zillions of friends scattered around the world. Some of them live in your gardens. You might be wondering how they all keep in touch. Well - that's their secret.

Norman's Scissor Sister
I thought I'd get spruced up for Christmas because I've had a message from Santa that I am on his reserve list to help him give out the presents.
I am so excited because I have just found out I'm his first reserve. Woweeeeee!
I popped into The Cutting Room in Masham to see Andrea, my personal Scissor Sister, and she trimmed my beard for me.
I saw Ellen Dean in there, and had my photograph taken with her.

Auditions for Gnomes 'R' Loud
The auditions for Norman's boy band got off the ground today.
Norman lead possible artists into The Tree Cavern where they played solo, and then together. He even had a dry ice machine for effect.
A fairy who wants to be a backing singer joined them.
He was impressed with the line-up.
The Tree Cavern rocked!
He is still looking for backing singers, and dancers. So if you know of any talented gnomes, elves, pixies, or fairy's, please get in touch with Norman asap.

Norman the Gnome meets Abba-Bjorn Belief
Sunday 9th November 2008
In his quest to to establish his boy band, Gnomes 'R' Loud, Norman was the guest of the top UK tribute band Abba-Bjorn Belief at the Georgian Theatre, Richmond.
He spent the first half of the evening performance on stage, but out of site, he was a bit shy and star-struck.
During the second half he took his position at the front of the stage and caused quite a stir amongst the audience.
Tina (Frida) and Lorraine (Agnetha) the fabulous singers in the band, gave Norman lots of great advice, and sends them a huge 'thank you'. He loved singing with them.
Tina and Lorraine must have fallen for Norman because he's been invited to their show at Hawes Town Hall on Sunday 16th November.
If any of his fans/friends are going please be sure to ask for him, and he might be pursueded to come to the front of the stage to say hello to everyone.

Norman the Gnome meets Heartbeat
Well, as you can see, I'm back in North Yorkshire.
I got a lift home in a police car with Heartbeat's PC Younger! Woweeee!
PC Younger wished me well with my boy band - Gnomes 'R' Loud, and I think he will come and see us perform when I get the band put together.
He is my Hero . . . and I think he's Ellen's Hero too ;-)
The production team was so impressed with me, they asked me to hang around and be an 'extra'. So . . . I have spent a very different afternoon - filming - in the arms of Jane.
Does this mean I have celebrity status already?
There was a downside though. I'd forgotten how cold it is in North Yorkshire. Us poor extras were frozen. But the warmth of everybody made up for it. Can't remember when I last met such nice people.
(Trust my buddy Nev to get in on the act. Seems he had climbed into a tree to wait for me and the sharp eye of the law spotted him. PC Younger kept a close eye on him. But Nev wasn't going to move. He had the best vantage point to watch all of the action.)
Ellen sends her special thanks to Andrew, Chris, Jane, and the utterly charming Steve Blakely.

Norman's coming home.
I'm thinking about going home.
No, I'm not missing the bad weather. I've heard from some swallows who spent the summer at my house - they dropped in here for a comfort stop on their way to warmer climes for the winter - that my people are missing me. And I'm feeling sad because nearly all of my little garden friends have been in therapy since I left them behind.
I just can't have that on my conscience. A gnome of my standing has to accept his responsibilities.
And you know what? I'm kinda missing them too. Ahhh . . .
So after enjoying months of wandering, I've decided to do the right thing. I've put the winter skiing on hold, and I'm headed for home.
BUT I HAVE GREAT NEWS.
I have a brilliant idea that I can't wait to get started, so I have to get back into my office - hope no field mice have moved in - because I need the jungle telegraph to send out the word that I will be holding auditions soon for my new boy-band GNOMES 'R' LOUD.
I will be looking for a Leprechaun, a Pixie and an Elf to join my group. Of course, I may need some faeries as backing singers and dancers too. Rock on Norman!

Norman to Home
Hi folks,
Norman here!
You're wondering where I've gone?
Well...that's for me to know and you to find out.
But, I'm glad that I've been missed.
Bob Johnson's depressing weather forecast was my inspiration to up sticks, and boy did he get it right. Have you seen the weather in North Yorkshire today? If not, here are a couple of photos to show you what I'm missing.
I know you've had some info as to my whereabouts...I'm the only one who really knows. Ha ha ha!!! BUT you could say that I'm away with the Faeries ;-)
Love,
Norman the Gnome x

Norman - The Gnome
The weather has been kind to us in the past few days in the UK, so you can understand that we’ve spent some time in the garden...not actually doing anything practical, of course, but making lots of plans for the coming summer.
Our favourite place to stand and plan is beside the pond, next to Norman, one of our gnomes.
We love Norman and always tell him what’s going to be happening in the garden over the summer. Yesterday was no exception. We told him about the apple tree that’s going to be planted for Katie our horse, and the additional lavender plants that are coming.
So....can you imagine our horror when, this morning, we looked out and saw that Norman was missing!!!!
At first we thought he had toppled into the pond. But no! In his usual place something white glinted in the early sunshine. I rushed outside to check things out and there it was....a brief message scrawled on an envelope...it was so simple...he’s always been a gnome of few words, always preferring to listen.
Well... the little blighter was certainly listening to us yesterday, because as well as discussing the garden we talked about the weather, especially the awful wintry forecast that we’d heard on ITV for the coming weekend.
So...as we see it....It’s all down to Bob Johnson’s wintry weather forecast! (He’s the local ITV weather man) he’s our fave forecaster. Obviously Norman’s taken Bob’s forecast to heart and gone to find some sunshine!
We are so worried. Our Norman’s gone off somewhere - BUT WHERE???
Gone Gnoming - that was all his note said. BUT his little gnome passport that he keeps under the gooseberry bush is missing! So he could be heading anywhere in the world.........
If you think that you might have seen Norman, then do please let us know. Take a good look at his photograph - we don’t want any mistakes!
His friends are worried sick, and it looks like they might set out to find him.
Oh dear, then what will we do?
